Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to know exactly what I want before reaching out?
Not at all. Many people reach out with only a feeling, a memory, or a few items and questions. The inquiry is simply a place to begin a conversation - clarity often comes through that process.
What kinds of items can you work with?
I work with clothing, fabric, books, paper, handwritten notes, and small personal objects that held meaning in someone's life. Although, I will work with clothing a deceased person was wearing at the time of death as long as there is no biological material on it. If you're unsure whether something is appropriate, you're always welcome to ask.
Will my items be cut, altered, or changed?
Transformation is part of the creative process, but nothing is altered without your knowledge and consent. You will always be consulted before any permanent changes are made.
What if I'm not ready to let go of the items yet?
That's completely okay. There is no timeline or pressure to proceed. This work is here when and if you're ready.
Can I change my mind after I start?
You can always pause or step back before materials are sent. Once the creative process begins, the work becomes custom and cannot be refunded or reversed, but communication is always welcome along the way.
How long does a piece usually take?
Timelines vary based on complexity and current workload. This work is created slowly and intentionally, and is never rushed. You'll be given an estimated timeframe during the inquiry process.
Can a piece include items from more than one person?
Yes - in many cases this is possible, and often very meaningful. This can be discussed during the inquiry.
Do you work with ashes or human remains?
No. For ethical and practical reasons, I do not work with ashes, human remains, or biological materials.
Will my piece be shared publicly?
Only with your permission. Your privacy and the personal nature of your story are always respected.
What if I don't like the finished piece?
Because this work is deeply personal and interpretive, refunds are not offered once the process begins. However, communication is part of the process, and care is taken to create something that feels meaningful and aligned.
Is this therapy or grief counseling?
No this is artistic work, not therapeutic or medical care. While many people find the process meaningful, it is not a substitute for professional grief support.
How do I begin?
You can begin by filling out the inquiry form on the Contact page. There is no obligation - just a place to connect, ask questions, or share what feels comfortable.
